Great release party at the Rhythm House

We had a great release party for our new CD, East End Avenue, at the Rhythm House in Bridgeville, PA on Friday, June 16. Thanks to Sean McDowell of WDVE for serving as emcee, and to Darryl Price of the Rhythm House for the great hospitality.

The big crowd that came for the event despite nasty construction and detours on US 79 saw a great show and seemed to love all the new material that we debuted.

We'll be visiting a lot of you non-Pittsburghers during the rest of the summer and fall. See our schedule to find out where and when.

Siberia

I have to share an email I got from a DJ in Siberia about our new CD:
Dear Billy Price! Thank You so much for fantastic brilliant East End Avenue! You really can't imagine what is honor and proud for us, for our radio station, discover Your creation, touch perfectly splendid work, work of incredibly highest culture and mastery!!! I think we are unique here! It is really exclusive, invaluable opportunity for us and for our Blues Guitar audience! Thank You, for joy and holiday of dealings with Your Music, With Your Guitar! Much friendly love from Siberia.

When Kruschev was pounding his shoe on the table at the U.N., I never imagined that one day I would be receiving much friendly love from Siberia. It's a wonderful world.

Tin Angel in Philly

The crowd at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia last week for our first of two CD release parties (the second is this Friday evening, 8:00, at the Rhythm House in Bridgeville, PA, south of Pittsburgh) was small but enthusiastic. There are two possible explanations for the small crowd:
  1. Everybody goes away to the beach on the weekends in Philadelphia, and it's hard to draw a crowd for a music show during the summer.
  2. We suck, and the people in Philadelphia are just the first ones on the East Coast to have figured this out.
I'm going to choose to believe that the correct answer is (1).

Nevertheless, those who were there had a great time, and here is the photographic evidence. Thanks to Mike "Try Sushi" Shina and to Rebecca for the photos.

If we're going to go with (1) as the explanation, this does not bode well for our upcoming show on August 18 at the World Cafe Live. I hear great things about this place--everyone I know in Philly has been telling me that this is the place I need to play--so I hope that our friends in Philly and nearby areas will help us out and plan on attending on the 18th!
